District 833 School Board Regular Meeting:

Called to Order by Kath at 6:30pm at the DSC. School Board members present: Brunnette, Gelbmann, Kath, McElwee-Stevens, Schwartz, Johnson and Van Leer. Superintendent Jacobus was present. Moved by Van Leer & seconded by Brunnette to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
District Highlights: Ron Meyer, Director of Transportation & Lt. Brian Reu with the MN State Patrol presented an award to Emily White for 41 years of service in pupil transportation. ERHS AD, Jon Hinzman, highlighted their Adaptive Softball Team, Boys Tennis Team & Girls Track Team. PHS AD, Phil Kuemmel, highlighted their Robotics Team. WHS Track Coach, DJ Billingsley, highlighted the Track Team. Jeff Jorgenson, Director of Special Services and Stacey Vogele with SEAC awarded teacher Jason Kjos from PHS and the Special Ed Team at CGMS School with the Special Ed Outstanding Service Award.
Visitor/Non Agenda Items: 2 residents presented their concerns regarding walking to school & bus service routes. A resident presented her concerns regarding the date of graduation for 2015.
Moved by McElwee-Stevens & seconded by Van Leer to approve the following consent agenda items: Approval of Retirements, Resignations, Terminations, Leaves of Absence, New Employees/Change of Status, 5/22/14 & 6/5/14 School Board Mtg Minutes, April Financial Statements, April Cash Disbursements, Electronic Fund Transfers, the Gift Report, Student Teacher agreement w/ U of SD, Health and Safety Policy 807, Miscellaneous Wage Sheet, Annual Membership & Dues for Fiscal Year 2014-2015, Association Memberships, Petty Cash Limit for 2014-2015, Grant Application & the Population Update.
The 2013-2014 District Staff Development Plan was presented. Proposed changes were presented to Policy 201, Legal Status of the School Board & Policy 406, Public and Personnel Data.
Moved by Brunnette & seconded McElwee-Stevens to approve the 14-15 General Fund & Transportation Budget. All in Favor, none opposed. Motion passed.
Moved by Schwartz, & seconded by Van Leer to approve a resolution to appoint Michelle Witte to replace School Board Director Gelbmann. Roll Call vote taken with all in favor, none opposed. Motion carried.
Superintendent Jacobus reported on Summer Professional Development, summer work for 14/15, CG Strawberry Fest\'s Parade and the Summer Food Service Program. He talked about RRES Student Council presenting Coins for Kids, RRES 4th graders honored a former classmate, Pierre LeQue, by collecting helmets in Pierre\'s memory and presenting them to Woodbury PD for kids in need. 4th grade classes at LRES had "Penny Wars" raising $552.85 for Make-a-Wish & MES 4th grade students raised $648.31 during a Penny War Competition for the Cure Epilepsy org.
Superintendent Jacobus thanked departing staff for their contributions. Chair Kath and Superintendent Jacobus presented Gelbmann with a plaque for his outstanding service on the school board. He served from 96-14.
