Sieben, Bigham to hold town hall meetings
State Sen. Katie Sieben and Rep. Karla Bigham will host town hall meetings on Saturday, Jan. 31 in St. Paul Park and South St. Paul. Sieben will also host a town hall meeting in Afton on Saturday, Jan. 24.
"I urge citizens to attend our town meetings and stay involved in the political process. People hold the power to make a difference in state government," Sieben said. "Town meetings are designed to be listening and learning sessions. We want to hear your ideas on how to make government work more efficiently, what legislative priorities we should focus on, and how we can better lead the state."
The 2009 Legislative Session began Jan. 6. The major issues facing the 2009 legislature include solving the budget deficit, education, and health care.
"We need your ideas on how to best solve the budget crisis we face," Rep. Bigham said. "If we all work together we can do what is best for the people of our area and for the state of Minnesota."
Informational handouts will be available on state issues of interest.
The first meeting on Jan. 31 will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul Park City Hall. The second meeting will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the South St. Paul City Hall.
