Sheryl Crow, Take 6 bring music variety to Cottage Grove Holiday Train concert
Sheryl Crow and Take 6 will perform at Canadian Pacific's Holiday Train anniversary concert Dec. 14 in Cottage Grove. Here's a bit of background on the performers:
Combining country, folk, rock and pop genres into her own sound, singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow is set to headline the 2013 Cottage Grove stop of the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train.
Crow is a nine-time Grammy Award winner and has performed with rock 'n' roll legends Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones and Sting, among others. Best known for her earlier hits “If It Makes You Happy” and “All I Wanna Do,” Crow is a versatile musician whose recently released eighth studio release, “Feels Like Home,” a country album was followed by two American Country Award nominations.
The smooth vocals of one of Gospel’s most acclaimed a cappella groups is slated to warm up crowds during the Cottage Grove stop of the 2013 Canadian Pacific Holiday Train. Take 6, a 10-time Grammy Award winning group, infuses samplings of R&B and jazz into their devotional music. The group has released 16 albums since 1988, including a live record, greatest hits, and two Christmas albums. Take 6 has collaborated with Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Ray Charles and Quincy Jones, among others. Their contemporary soul music and urban gospel flare has entertained audiences from church gatherings to art centers and presidential events.
