School District 833 approves updated anti-bullying policy
School District 833 has a revised anti-bullying policy.
The district updated its existing policy following the Minnesota Legislature’s passage of the Safe and Supportive Schools Act, which required that all districts have an anti-bullying policy. District 833’s revised policy defines different types of bullying; prohibits it on school grounds and property; outlines discipline for anyone who engages in, condones, tolerates or falsely reports bullying; spells out the bullying reporting steps; explains the district’s response to reported bullying; and identifies anti-bullying training to be completed by school administrators and staff.
The South Washington County School Board approved the revised policy Aug. 21.
