Roland approved as Cottage Grove finance director
Cottage Grove City Council members formally approved the hiring of longtime Farmington finance director Robin Roland on Wednesday to fill the city's vacant finance post.
City officials offered the position to the 13-year veteran of Farmington City Hall earlier this month. Roland notified Farmington officials she would accept the position last Tuesday.
Roland's employment with the City of Cottage Grove will begin Nov. 30.
Her approval Wednesday came without discussion as part of the city council meeting's consent calendar -- a list of non-controversial items approved in a single council motion -- a sign of the unanimity that Mayor Myron Bailey said surrounded the choice of Roland.
The city has been without a permanent finance director since April.
Roland's starting annual base salary will be $105,000.
