Public hearing set on Red Rock Corridor plan

Email

The public has an opportunity Thursday, Jan. 23, to provide input on the proposed Red Rock Corridor transit plan.

The Red Rock Corridor Commission is expected to vote on a plan that identifies bus rapid transit as the preferred transit mode to provide all-day transit service from St. Paul to Hastings  through south Washington County. Bus rapid transit came out on top in a study of four modes.

The report and a summary document can be found at the Red Rock website. This is the second alternatives analysis done on the corridor. The first was completed in 2007. The latest plan includes updated population and ridership information.

The public hearing will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at the beginning of the Red Rock commission meeting at Cottage Grove City Hall, 12800 Ravine Parkway. The commission is expected to approve the alternatives analysis report at the meeting.

People can also submit comments through Feb. 14 by emailing them to Lyssa Leitner at Lyssa.Leitner@co.washington.mn.us or by calling 651-430-4300.
