Principals hired for Pine Hill, Middleton elementary schools
Two new principals have been hired for District 833 elementary schools.
Jolaine Mast will lead Pine Hill Elementary in Cottage Grove, and Sara Palodichuk will oversee Middleton Elementary in Woodbury.
Mast joins Pine Hill after working as an elementary school principal in Fairbank, Iowa, for four years. She previously worked as an instructional coach and teacher in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
“I have learned to use my time in areas that directly influence student achievement,” Mast said in a statement. “This has also shown me the importance of teamwork among leaders and ways to share leadership responsibilities to staff.”
Palodichuk spent the past eight years as an elementary school principal in the West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan district. She is returning to a familiar area, having worked as a District 833 teacher, reading specialist and assistant principal from 1993-2006.
“I believe every child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow emotionally, intellectually, physically and socially,” Palodichuk. “I am a strong believer in high expectation and accountability for all stakeholders and working collaboratively to accomplish excellence for all.”
Mast replaces Stacy DeCorsey, who accepted a position as elementary principal at Excelsior Elementary in the Minnetonka Public Schools after serving as the principal of Pine Hill Elementary last school year. Palodichuk replaces Julie Nielsen, who was selected as one of the district’s new assistant superintendents after serving as principal at Middleton Elementary for the last eight years.
