Paul Hegseth, Kenyon, reported Monday that someone entered his unattached garage sometime between Dec. 18-20 and stole air compressor valued at $300.


Shannon Tarr, 1555 Roosevelt Ave., reported Monday that someone stole paperweight valued at $75 from residence.

Kristy Arend, Rochester, reported Sunday that her son's snowboard ($500) was stolen from outside the chalet at Welch Village Ski Area.

Red Wing police are investigating two reports of diamonds stolen from jewelry belonging to residents of Red Wing Health Center. In reports taken Tuesday and Wednesday, residents reported having diamonds forcibly removed from necklace and ring.

Officers dispatched to Econo Foods, 160 Tyler Road S., just before 7 p.m. Wednesday arrested Clarence Washington, Minneapolis, after it was reported that he tried to shoplift a videotape.

Dustin Winterowd, 1228 Sylvan St., reported his bicycle stolen Thursday. It was recovered by police two hours later near the Athletic Field.

Econofoods, 160 Tyler Road S., reported at 5:13 p.m. Thursday that someone left without paying for $35.69 in cigarettes.

Smoke bomb

Red Wing police were dispatched to County Market just after 7 p.m. Monday after it was reported that three juvenile boys had thrown smoke bomb into store. The three boys, estimated to be about 13, then fled. No arrests have yet been made.

Property damage

Gerald Knudson, Goodhue, reported Monday that someone broke window in vehicle.

Riverfront Ford, 3859 Highway 61 W., reported Tuesday that sometime the previous evening someone damaged the outside rear view mirrors on eight vehicles. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.


Dawn Copp, Lake City, reported late Tuesday that as she was working for Red Wing Taxi, a man assaulted her. He denied the allegation. A report is being forwarded to the county attorney.


Jed Illg, 20, Red Wing, was cited for having an open container after his vehicle struck trees at 1 a.m. Saturday on a curve on Flueger Road in Hay Creek. Illg left scene. and told authorities he had swerved to miss deer.

Vehicle driven by Donna Lexvold, 41, Kenyon, left roadway at 8 p.m. Monday on 222nd Avenue in Pine Island Township. She said she swerved to miss deer.

Vehicle driven by Kristie Siewert, 16, 3544 Kosec Drive, was turning just after 1 p.m. Tuesday onto Kosec Drive from Spring Street when she said the sun obstructed her view and she struck a pedestrian, Margaret Timmersman, 66, 3614 Kosec Drive. Timmersman was not transported to hospital.

Vehicle owned by Victoria Lampman, 422 22nd St., was located at 4:40 a.m. Wednesday on property on Franklin Street near West Fifth Street. Vehicle had driven onto the property belonging to Alan and James Kaeder, striking a tree, pole and garage. Vehicle also ran over canoe and damaged truck topper, stopping after it hit a hill. No driver or passengers were at the scene. Later, Kane Lampman of 422 22nd St. came forward and admitted to police that he was driving the vehicle when the accident occured. The county attorney's office is considering charges.
