Police bust underage drinking party in Hastings; five youths ranging in age from 12 to 15 cited

A drinking party in the 800 block of 10th Street West on June 3 in Hastings resulted in five citations for underage consumption. One 12-year-old, two 13-year-olds and two 15-year-olds were cited.

Police were called to the party just before midnight and eventually a boy let an officer in to the home.

He located three juveniles on the bed and one male hiding in a closet.

A partially-empty case of Miller Genuine Draft was found. One of the juveniles told the officer that the alcohol was provided by a resident of the home, who had left. An attempt to make contact with the homeowner is under way.

The parents of the individuals were contacted, and all the juveniles were turned over to their parents.
