Park Grove Library in Cottage Grove to show community artists' work
The Park Grove Library in Cottage Grove is accepting entries for its first-annual Community Art Show, which will be held April 1-May 31.
Librarian RaeAnn Palmer is organizing the exhibition, which she hopes will bring new faces to the library and help resident artists get exposure.
“It’s kind of a comfortable, nice, small venue for beginning artists who can have experience exhibiting their art,” she said. “I just thought it would really be fun for everyone to get to show their art and see other people’s art they might know from their neighborhood and to extend the library out into the community.”
Artists must be at least 14 years old and submit a maximum of two items in any media, including paint, clay, wood and metal. Pieces cannot be larger than than 3 feet by 4 feet nor exceed 30 pounds in weight.
The deadline for submissions is March 31. Because of space restrictions, the total number of artworks will be limited to 50.
