Park girls tennis: Wolfpack’s season comes to a close

The Park girls tennis team’s season came to a close last week at the Section 3AA tournament.

Park finished the year 1-13 overall, its lone victory being a 4-3 non-conference win over Trinity School at River Ridge at the end of August.

As a team, Park – the 14th seed in the 15-team section - fell 7-0 to third-seeded Eagan in the playoff’s opening round.

Individually, the Park doubles team of seniors Danielle Myers and Molly Swanson lost 6-3, 6-4 to Burnsville’s Anderson and Anderson in the first round and the sophomore tandem of Danielle Perry and Morgan Kielsa fell in straight sets to fifth-seeded Debertin and Voelkers from Visitation.

In singles play, senior Nina Riesselman fell 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 to Vi Duong in the first round and senior Mallorie Briggs lost 6-0, 6-0 to seventh-seeded Taylor Jackson of Prior Lake in the opener.

Park will lose seven seniors from this year’s team: Myers, Eden Abraham, Iris Burbank, Briggs, Swanson, Riesselman and Stephanie Clausen.
