Park boys tennis: Wolfpack beat Como Park, edged by Stillwater

The Park boys tennis team split two very close matches last week. Park, which is 3-4 overall on the year, lost to Suburban East Conference foe Stillwater 4-3 on Tuesday, before beating St. Paul Como Park in a non-conference match on Friday.

Against Stillwater, Pele Le won 6-3, 6-4 at second singles and Josh Kuemmel won 6-3, 6-2 at fourth singles. In doubles play, the Wolfpack’s No. 3 tandem of Jon Song and Logan Ross won 6-2, 3-6, 6-1.

In Park’s win over Como Park, Le won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 singles and the Wolfpack swept the doubles to clinch the win. In doubles play, the No. 1 team of Sam Forthun and Michael Nguyen won 6-2, 6-2, while Jacob Popowitz and Parker Adams won 6-3, 6-2 at second doubles and Logan Ross and Jon Song won 6-0, 6-2 at third doubles.

Next, the Wolfpack is set to take on Roseville on Thursday, May 1.
