Park boys basketball: Wolfpack’s still hunting for first conference win
The Park boys basketball team played White Bear Lake tough before being roughed up by Cretin-Hall in a pair of Suburban East Conference games last week.
Park (3-18; 0-14 SEC) fell 65-46 to White Bear Lake on Monday, Feb. 3 and lost 83-36 to Cretin-Derham Hall on Friday, Feb. 7. Both games were held at Park High School.
White Bear Lake (10-12; 6-8 SEC) took a 37-26 lead at the half against the Wolfpack then outscored Park 28-20 in the second half to earn the win.
Twelve different players scored for Park in the defeat. However, no one hit double figures. Senior Jordan Pinnix and junior Anthony Juba led the Wolfpack offensively, each scoring nine points. Three different players scored in double figures for the Bears.The landscape wasn’t as sunny against Cretin-Derham Hall.Led by a game-high 27 points by Michael Hannon, the Raiders (18-4; 13-1 SEC) opened up a 58-21 halftime lead on Park and outscored the Wolfpack 25-15 in the second half to cruise to the win. Pinnix was the Wolfpack’s leading scorer with 10 points.Park was at White Bear Lake (10-12; 6-8 SEC) on Tuesday, after the Bulletin went to print. Next, the Wolfpack head to Mounds View to take on the Mustangs (16-5; 9-5 SEC) on Friday.
