The Park boys basketball team won for the first time this season, 52-46 over North Branch, in the opening round of the South St. Paul Holiday Tournament on Tuesday, Dec. 28.

In the game, Park (1-7) took a 26-19 lead at the half over North Branch (0-4) and never looked back.

Senior guard Ben Mair led a balanced attack for the Wolfpack in the win with a team-high 14 points. Mair, a foreign exhange student from Australia, leads the team in scoring at 11.0 points per game on the year.

Additionally, senior center August Omot netted nine points and senior guards Joe Cocchiarella and Antonio Dominguez and junior guard Justin Gentz each scored six points.

The Wolfpack now face Prescott, Wis. in the second round of the tournament, at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29, at South St. Paul High School.
