Park boys basketball: Hamline's Cassidy hired as Wolfpack's new head coach
Ed Cassidy has been hired as the new boys basketball coach at Park High School. He takes over for Jason Schwartz, who resigned from that position this spring.
Schwartz, a Park graduate, was the head coach at Park since 2010; prior to that he served as an assistant coach at Park for eleven years.
“J worked very hard to build and develop our program. He poured his heart and soul into Park boys basketball,” said Park Activities Director Phil Kuemmel. “I appreciate all that he has done for Park High School. We are fortunate to have a candidate with Ed’s extensive experience. I am confident in his ability to come in and continue to build our program.”
Cassidy takes over at Park after serving as an assistant coach at Hamline University last year. He was also a head coach at St. Bernard’s, Simley, and De La Salle high schools and served as an assistant coach at the college level for many years as well. The Boys Basketball Booster Club will hold a meet and greet with the new coach, with details to be released at a later time.
