No injuries after truck fire at Park High School
There were no injuries reported after a vehicle caught fire in the Park High School parking lot Thursday morning, officials said.
The Cottage Grove Public Safety Department said fire crews were called to the high school at 10:59 a.m. on a report of a fire.
Park Interim Principal Craig Paul sent an email to parents and district staff informing them of the incident. He said the fire was quickly extinguished and no students were injured or even outside during the fire. No other vehicles were damaged.
Teachers in the building had smelled smoke and detected the fire, Paul said. Fire officials said a faulty issue with the truck caused the fire.
