Police were called Feb. 27 to the Napa store, 1586 Hastings Ave., on a shoplifting report. A man entered the store, took a can of spray lubricant to use on a seized lock on a vehicle outside the store. When an employee confronted him, he told him to call police. The suspect told police he wanted to set up an account with the store. He was told he needed to pay for the product and was prohibited from returning.
A 21-year-old Newport woman was cited for domestic assault following an incident March 1 at a home in the 1400 block of 10th Avenue. The woman allegedly hit a man in the face after they had been arguing, according to the police report.
