New Life girls basketball: Eagles split pair, but remain undefeated in MCAA
The New Life Academy girls basketball team split a pair of games last week, but remained undefeated and tied for first place in the Minnesota Christian Athletic Association conference.
New Life, which is 12-3 overall and 6-0 in the MCAA, had a five-game win streak snapped with a 64-42 loss at St. Croix Lutheran, on Thursday, Jan. 30, before rebounding with a 70-30 pounding of Trinity on Monday, Feb. 3.
Sydney Steele led the way for the Eagles in the win over St. Croix Lutheran with a team-high 13 points. Emily Bolduan added 10 points and four rebounds, Valerie Hohol had eight rebounds and four points and Natalie Hager had eight points and five rebounds.
Prior to the two most-recent games, NLA beat Heritage Christian Academy 55-45 at home on Jan. 21 and won 64-49 at West Lutheran on Friday, Jan. 24.Bolduan had 18 points and seven rebounds in the win over West Lutheran, while Hohol filled the stat sheet with 10 points, 10 rebounds and five steals. Molly Saum added 11 points and six rebounds for the Eagles.Against Heritage, Hohol had 11 points and nine rebounds and Bolduan had 11 points and four rebounds to lead the Eagles.Next, NLA is at Lester Prairie on Friday.
