The Eagles (13-13, 10-3 Minnesota Christian Athletic Association) battled with the Bears in a very defensive first half, finding themselves down by four at the halfway point 23-19.

The game opened up in the second half as each team made adjustments, and the Eagles were able to outscore Byron in the second half, but it wasn't enough as the Bears notched the win with a final score of 57-59.

Four Eagles players scored in double digits. Junior Emily Boldaun led all scorers with 16, and sophomore Valerie Hohol ended with a double-double as she scored 13 and had 10 rebounds.

Junior Molly Saum added 12 and junior Natalie Hagar had 10. Sophomore Sydney Steele had four assists.

New Life begins Section 4AA action on Thursday against St. Paul Academy (5-17). The Eagles are the seventh seed in the 14-team section. SPA is seeded 10th. A win would send NLA to second-seeded Minnehaha Academy on Saturday.
