More county H1N1 vaccination clinics announced
Washington County's Department of Public Health and Environment will continue its H1N1 flu vaccination clinics throughout January. Each clinic runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Residents should reserve their vaccination by calling the Flu Message Center at (651) 430-6820.
There is no charge for the vaccination. Locations and dates are as follows:
in Stillwater, at the Washington County Government Center, 14949 62nd St. N.,
Wednesday, Jan. 13, Wednesday, Jan. 20, and Tuesday, Jan. 26;
in Forest Lake, at Headwaters Forest Lake Service Center, 19955 Forest Road N.,
Thursday, Jan. 7, Tuesday, Jan. 12, and Monday, Jan. 25;
in Cottage Grove, at the Cottage Grove Service Center, 13000 Ravine Parkway S.,
Wednesday, Jan. 6, Thursday, Jan. 21, and Wednesday, Jan. 27.
The clinics are open to all persons wishing to be vaccinated against the H1N1 influenza virus.
Children 9 years of age and younger need two doses approximately four weeks apart. These clinics provide a good opportunity for young children to receive a second dose, if they had their first dose in late November or early December. All children younger than 18 years of age need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
"Despite decreasing numbers of H1N1 flu cases in Minnesota, this illness still presents a serious risk to the health of all Washington County residents. Citizens are encouraged to be vaccinated," said Lowell Johnson, Department Director.
