Money donated for Cottage Grove speed trailer
The Cottage Grove Crime Prevention Board, after more than a year of fundraising, collected $6,000 in donations and presented the city with a check to be used toward the purchase of a speed trailer, which will cost a total of $19,500.
The board initiated several fundraisers with Bonngard's Family Meats and Deli, Culver's, and Caribou, among others, to raise the money. Director of Public Safety Craig Woolery said the city has never owned a speed trailer before and the technology will help address safety concerns regarding speeding.
"This is a great, great group that does so much for our community," said Cottage Grove Mayor Myron Bailey.
