Lehrke, Thiede headed to CG City Council
Derrick Lehrke was the runaway winner in Tuesday's Cottage Grove City Council election, easily winning one of the two available seats by 1,000 votes over his nearest competitor.
Voters also selected former planning commission chair David Thiede for a council seat. Thiede narrowly defeated police-endorsed Angela Chambliss by 79 votes.
Lehrke amassed 27 percent of the vote in the five-person field, Thiede just more than 22 percent, and Chambliss 21.6 percent.
