If kids were the cooks: Cottage Grove students share their Thanksgiving recipes
Cottage Grove Minnesota 7584 80th Street South 55016

Cottage Grove Elementary School second-grade teachers Jean Aimonetti, Kirsten Bergherr, Michelle Jorissen and Sue Sershen selected these recipes from the ones their students wrote last week.

Students were asked to get recipes from their families and teachers helped them by showing how to list ingredients followed by the instructions. They also gave them the correct spelling for "ingredients."

In second grade, spelling is corrected but not for all the words so as to overwhelm students, according to teachers. By the end of the year, all spelling will be corrected.
