Hwy. 61 traffic set to shift again this week
Take heart Highway 61 motorists: this summer's $23 million repaving of Highway 61 through Cottage Grove that began in June has reached its halfway point, said a Minnesota Department of Transportation spokesperson on Monday.
Work is set to begin on repaving the southbound roadway, meaning traffic will move this week from one lane in each direction on the southbound lanes to the northbound side of Highway 61. Which day this week isn't yet known, said MnDOT spokesperson Mary McFarland.
Other project news:
-- On and off ramps at Innovation Road/Highway 19 have reopened.
-- Access to northbound Highway 95 from northbound Highway 61 was set to reopen Monday.
-- On and off ramps at Jamaica Avenue will also reopen this week.
-- Southbound Highway 95 will remain closed for another month.
