Goodwill ponders vacant Gateway North site in Cottage Grove
The business climate in Cottage Grove continues to show promise as yet another retailer is in talks with the city.
Goodwill/Easter Seals Minnesota has reported interest in the vacant Coldwell Banker Burnet site at the corner of Hardwood Avenue and 80th Street and could soon apply for an application to build, said Cottage Grove City Administrator Ryan Schroeder.
"I can confirm that our organization is considering new locations throughout the Twin Cities area, including Cottage Grove," said Lisa Ritter, director of marketing for Goodwill/Easter Seals Minnesota.
Schroeder said while no plans are final, a proposed lease is "on the table."
The organization, known for selling gently used clothing and home goods and providing employment and support services to those in need, has more than 30 locations throughout Minnesota. Several stores are located in the east and southeast metro, including Woodbury, Maplewood and Hastings.
