Free trees at Cottage Grove Arbor Day celebration
The first 150 Cottage Grove residents to arrive Saturday at Cottage Grove's 2009 Arbor Day celebration will receive a free Maple tree as part of the event promoting local parks, planting trees and environmental awareness.
The city's 2009 Arbor Day event is Saturday, April 25 from 9 a.m. to Noon at the Cottage Grove Public Works building, 8635 West Point Douglas Road.
Nurseries and landscaping countries will on hand to sell trees and offer information on lawn, garden and tree care. Cottage Grove officials will also offer information to promote the removal of invasive Buckthorn.
Beginning at 9 a.m., the first 150 Cottage Grove residents to arrive at Public Works receive a free Maple tree to plant at home, limit one per household.
