Four teens injured in two-vehicle head-on crash in Cottage Grove
Four teenagers were transported to area hospitals following a two-vehicle head-on crash Wednesday in Cottage Grove.
Cottage Grove police said two vehicles collided at the intersection of 70th Street and Joliet Avenue. Emergency crews were dispatched at 6:15 p.m.
Five people were involved, police said in a news release. From one vehicle a 12-year-old Cottage Grove boy was transported to Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury and a 13-year-old boy was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
A 17-year-old Cottage Grove girl and a 17-year-old Hammond, Wis., boy both were transported to Regions Hospital. It was not immediately known whether the fifth person involved was injured.
Police Captain Pete Koerner said one passenger was in critical condition Wednesday night.
70th Street and Joliet Avenue intersect just west of Keats Avenue. Authorities closed the road for a time Wednesday evening as police and the State Patrol investigated the crash.
