Former Rush Nightclub lot used for temporary overflow parking
Cottage Grove Minnesota 7584 80th Street South 55016

The parking lot of the former Rush Nightclub along West Point Douglas Road in Cottage Grove has seen a significant amount of traffic in the last week which has many area residents wondering what is going on.

Northern Tier Energy's St. Paul Park Refinery is currently in the midst of a turnaround or a planned, periodic shutdown in order to perform routine maintenance. During this turnaround, workers have been using the former nightclub's parking lot for overflow parking and are being shuttled to the plant.

Human Resource Manager of the St. Paul Park plant Anne Liming said highway passersby can expect to see the lot full for the next three to four weeks while the maintenance process is completed. Liming added that the plant undergoes a routine overhaul about every five years to inspect all materials and equipment and to maintain a safe operation.
