Filing opens for two St. Paul Park City Council seats

The candidate filing period for two St. Paul Park City Council seats opened Tuesday.

The four-year terms of incumbent council members Sandi Dingle and Jeff Swenson are set to expire on Jan. 6, 2014.

Dingle and Swenson were first elected in 2005 and re-elected in 2009.

Residents interested in filing for either of the seats in the 2013 city election must file a notarized affidavit of candidacy by Aug. 13.

Candidates must be eligible voters, at least 21 years of age and a resident of St. Paul Park for at least 30 days prior to the election. Interested candidates cannot file for another office in the same election.

Candidates can pick up an official affidavit of candidacy, campaign manual and more filing information at the St. Paul Park City Hall weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. There is a $2 filing fee. The final day to file is Aug. 13.
