Festival drinking rules on the table
St. Paul Park business owners as well as residents have been invited to meet with the city's Public Safety Commission at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 25, at city hall to discuss the rules for public consumption of alcohol during Heritage Days.
Also up for consideration is the continuation of the Saturday night street dance, a well-known event during the annual Heritage Days festival for the past 25 years.
Heritage Days committee chair Greg Langbehn said in a letter sent to businesses, that "the police department has had its meeting with Public Safety and expressed its concerns and now it is our turn."
Once the commission has heard from business owners, it will make its recommendations to the city council, Langbehn noted in the letter.
Langbehn asked business people who cannot attend the meeting to send comments to him at email@example.com.
The next meeting of the Heritage Days committee is scheduled at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26.
