Events planned for Park High School’s 100th
The organizing committee for Park High School’s 100th anniversary celebration Oct. 10-11 has released a preliminary schedule of events.
The celebration of the school will coincide with Park’s annual homecoming festivities.
Here are planned events:
Friday, Oct. 10
-- Homecoming parade: Line up for the parade will be at Kingston Park at 3:45 p.m. The parade will start at 4:30 p.m. Alumni are encouraged to drive cars, trucks in the parade or to make floats commemorating their year. Past homecoming kings and queens and former members of sports teams are also encouraged to participate.
-- Alumni Tailgate: It will be held at the end of the parade beginning at 5:30 p.m. next to the Wolfpack Stadium. There will be refreshments, tickets to the Wolfpack football game and entertainment. It will conclude at 7 p.m. in time for the game.
Saturday, Oct. 11
-- School tours: Tours of Park High School will begin at 10 a.m. Registration will be in the multi-purpose room near the school entrance.
-- ‘Meet and Greet’: Former staff members will be available to reminisce with former students from noon to 2 p.m. in the Activity Center.
-- Presentations: Multimedia and speaker presentations of Park High School through the decades begins at 2:30 p.m. in the gymnasium.
-- An alumni dance will be held at the Red Barn VFW Post 8752, organized by the Class of 1964. Details are to be determined.
