Edward "Bubby" Leithauser, 88, of St. Paul Park, died on Wednesday, April 16.

Edward John Leithauser was born Jan. 4, 1926, in St. Paul, the son of Edward & Ruth (Walstrom) Leithauser. He was raised on St. Paul's east side and graduated from Harding High School. On July 10, 1955, he was united in marriage with La Verne Barbara Opatz in Wisconsin. Edward served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked at the airport postal facility and drove school bus for District 833.

Ed enjoyed billiards, playing cards, and playing and watching golf. He loved to drive.

Edward is survived by his wife, La Verne (Opatz); children, Barb (James) Allan, Deborah, Tim (Deb), Steve, and Jim (Julie); grandchildren, Nicole, Alexis, Mallory, Allison, Callie, Jason, Cole, Matt, and Kylee; great-grandchildren Olivia, James, Nicholas, Nathan, and Aubrey; sisters, JoAnn, Margaret, and Carol.

He was preceded in death by son, Edward; and sister, Doris.

Visitation 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday, April 21, with 12:30 p.m. funeral service at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Ave., St. Paul Park. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
