East Ridge junior Kelly McKenzie and freshman Megan Trollen led the way for the Raptors in the win.

McKenzie had the Raptors' top all-around score, taking second place in the overall competition with a 34.975. Cretin-Derham Hall's Becca Wilcox won the all-around with a 36.075.

McKenzie took second place in the vault (9.2), on the beam (8.675) and tied Wilcox for second place in the floor exercise (8.925) in the meet. Trollen gave East Ridge its lone first-place finish, taking the top spot in the floor exercise (9.3), while also earning second on the bars (8.875) and third on the beam (8.45).

"It was great to see both Kelly and Megan perform well on floor," East Ridge head coach Brittany Morris said. "We had five-for-five stuck varsity beam routines. The girls really fought for every skill. We want to keep going strong and moving up in the scores. The improvements the girls are making are noticeable and the vibe in the gym keeps getting better. "

East Ridge freshman Karina Joiner also placed in the top three for the Raptors, taking third in the vault (8.7). In addition, East Ridge senior Libby Lawrence scored a 31.55 in the all-around, followed closely by freshman Kelsey Deverell, who scored a 31.2 in the event. Lawrence's top score was an 8.35 in the vault. Deverell's best score was an 8.3 in the vault.

"Kelsey Deverell is starting to shine her light on the team and showing some great performances," Morris said.

Next, East Ridge plays host to rival Woodbury on Thursday, Jan. 24, at East Ridge High School. The meet is set to start at 6:30 p.m.

"It will be a close meet because we are sister schools and close in final scores," Morris said. "We just want to go out there and our best."
