The East Ridge boys tennis team got back on the winning track on Tuesday, improving to 5-3 on the season with a non-conference victory, 6-1, at Tartan on Tuesday afternoon.

After falling at No. 1 singles, the Raptors swept the remaining matches in straight sets to claim the sizable road victory heading into Thursday's match at Suburban East Conference foe Stillwater.

In singles competition, East Ridge got its wins from Zekeria Nigatu (6-1, 6-0), Mitch Taylor (6-1, 6-3) and Vishaal Gupta (6-1, 6-1) in the Nos. 2-4 slots, respectively. Gupta remained undefeated individually on the spring with his victory.

In doubles, the duos of Robbie MacNamara/Wilmar Tropezado (6-1, 6-0), Greg Sharrow/Warren Tropezado (6-1, 6-2) and Joaquin Valdes/Branden Hickey (6-2, 6-3) all were triumphant, respectively, at Nos. 1-3.

Following their match at SAHS, the Raptors are off until next Tuesday, when White Bear Lake comes calling to the ERHS courts at the Bielenberg Sports Center.
