East Ridge boys hockey: Raptors routed by Cretin-Derham Hall
Sixteenth-ranked Cretin-Derham Hall routed East Ridge 6-1 Thursday at Cottage Grove Ice Arena behind the play of Tanner Lydon and Nick Reis.
Lydon and Reis combined for four goals with both scoring twice in the Raiders’ Suburban East Conference win over the Raptors. Reis started the scoring with a power-play goal at the 8-minute, 40-second mark of the first period.
The Raiders (11-2-1, 8-0 SEC) added goals from Cole Gnetz and Joe Dekker in the second period for a 3-0 lead.
Reis connected again 51 seconds into the third period and Lydon added his pair of goals for a 6-0 lead.
Derek Hammer had the lone goal on an assist from Jake Nickoloff with 32 seconds left in the game for the Raptors (3-8-1, 3-6 SEC) who haven’t won in their past four games.
Cretin-Derham Hall finished 2-for-6 on the power play and had 32 shots on goal.
East Ridge finished with 22 shots on goal for the game.
After falling to Cretin-Derham Hall, Roseville raced out to a big lead through the first two periods and held off a late charge from East Ridge for a 3-1 victory Saturday in Roseville.
Roseville (7-5-2, 4-3-2 SEC) built a 3-0 lead with 5:24 left in the second period when Andrew Colvard scored a short-handed goal.
Drew Liberkowski gave Roseville its first lead at 9:34 of the first period and Chase Garvin scored at 8:34 of the second period.
The Raptors outshot the Raiders 35-22, including a 17-shot second period when they fell behind 3-0.
Nickoloff scored a power-play goal with 1:20 left in the game.
East Ridge will face Stillwater Thursday at Cottage Grove Ice Arena.
