East Ridge boys hockey: Raptors’ Ronquillo, Hammer lead way in 6-2 win
Jarrod Ronquillo and Derek Hammer each scored a pair of goals Tuesday for East Ridge in a 6-2 victory over St. Michael-Albertville at Cottage Grove Ice Arena.
Conor NewKirk and Jake Germann added goals for the Raptors (6-8-1, 5-6 SEC) who started a three-game winning streak.
East Ridge grabbed a 4-2 lead in the second period and added to its lead with goals from Hammer and Ronquillo in the third period.
The Raptors finished with 39 shots on goal and held the Knights to 30 for the game.
Nick Maki made 28 saves for the win.
Two nights later, Ronquillo’s goal with 6 minutes, 33 seconds left to play gave East Ridge a 1-0 victory Thursday over Stillwater at Cottage Grove Ice Arena.
Tyler Guck got the shutout victory with 33 saves.
East Ridge had 31 shots on goal for the game.
East Ridge also swept the season series with Park Saturday with a 3-2 victory at Cottage Grove Ice Arena last week.
The Raptors face Hastings Thursday in Hastings.
