Cottage Grove's Renewal by Anderson facility may see small number of layoffs
A small number of office jobs at the Renewal by Andersen facility in Cottage Grove may be eliminated as part of Andersen Corp.'s plan to cut 250 positions.
A majority of the company's planned layoffs will occur at its Bayport production facility, but nearly all Andersen facilities across the country will be impacted, company spokeswoman Laurie Bauer said Wednesday.
"It isn't impacting production in Cottage Grove," Bauer said. However, she added that there "may have been some impact" to a couple of office positions at the facility.
Andersen production workers are being offered incentives to leave the company voluntarily, which will affect the number of layoffs to be made by the end of the year, Bauer said.
Renewal by Andersen manufactures replacement windows. Roughly 3,200 of Andersen's 9,000 employees nationwide work in Minnesota, but the number of workers employed at the Cottage Grove facility was not immediately available.
