Cottage Grove police reports: thefts and property damage

Property damage

A Cottage Grove resident reported Aug. 6 that someone drove a vehicle through a yard in the 8500 block of Ivywood Avenue. There was minor damage. No suspects.

A Cottage Grove resident reported Aug. 11 that an object was thrown through the front window of the residence in the 8500 block of Indahl Avenue. Damage: $800.

A Cottage Grove woman reported Aug. 22 that someone keyed her car while it was in the parking lot of Target, 8655 East Point Douglas Road. The woman also reported that another vehicle she owns was keyed. Total damage estimated at $2,500.

A Cottage Grove resident reported Aug. 26 that the front window of a vehicle was shot out by a BB gun while parked in the 8100 block of Innsdale Avenue. No suspects identified. No damage estimate listed.

A Cottage Grove woman reported Aug. 29 that someone broke a window on a garage in the 8900 block of Inman Avenue. Damage estimated at $100.

A Cottage Grove resident reported Sept. 2 that the rear window of a vehicle was broken while it was parked in the 7800 block of 77th Street. No damage estimate listed.

A Cottage Grove resident reported Sept. 2 that there was damage to a garage door in the 8000 block of Scott Boulevard. Damage estimated at $200.

A Cottage Grove resident reported Sept. 2 that a window was damaged on a vehicle parked in the 7700 block of 80th Street. Damage estimated at $300.

A Cottage Grove resident reported Sept. 2 that a window was broken on a vehicle parked in the 8200 block of Homestead Avenue. Damage estimated at $100 to $200.

Vandalism

Graffiti was found Aug. 15 on an Xcel Energy utility pole in the 7200 block of Hidden Valley Trail. No damage estimate or suspects listed.

Theft

A Cottage Grove man reported Aug. 8 that while he was out of town someone accessed an outdoor electrical outlet at his home in the 6800 block of Meadow Grass Lane and ran an extension cord to power something off of the property. It is considered theft of service.

A Cottage Grove woman reported Aug. 9 that a GPS device valued at $150 was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 9400 block of 93rd Street.

A Cottage Grove woman living in the 6800 block of Ideal Avenue reported Aug. 9 that her vehicle registration tabs were stolen sometime between February and Aug. 3. No value listed.

A St. Paul Park man reported Aug. 9 that a stereo faceplate was stolen from a vehicle parked at Snap Fitness, 8700 East Point Douglas Road. A window was partially open on the vehicle.

A Cottage Grove man reported Aug. 10 that a gas cap and fog light were stolen from a vehicle parked at the residence in the 8100 block of East Point Douglas Road. Estimated loss: $465.

A Cottage Grove resident reported Aug. 11 that a water hose caddy was stolen from the residence in the 8600 block of Janero Avenue. Value: $70 for the caddy and $25 for the hose.

A Cottage Grove resident reported Aug. 14 that during a remodeling project on a home in the 6800 block of Pine Arbor Court, he noticed possessions were missing. Camping equipment, a handgun and ammunition were stolen. The loss was estimated at $744.

A Cottage Grove resident reported Aug. 14 that someone stole two tackle boxes from a boat parked in the driveway of the residence in the 8700 block of Granada Avenue. Loss was estimated at $430.

Holiday gas station, 8101 Hadley Ave., reported a $20.99 gas drive-off Aug. 14. No suspect.

A Cottage Grove man reported Aug. 15 that five weeks earlier tools and fishing equipment were stolen from the back of his truck in the 8500 block of Greystone Avenue. The value of the items reported stolen totaled $1,000.

Bailey Nurseries reported Aug. 15 that a battery, toolbox and seed drums were stolen from an unsecured area of the property in the 6700 block of 103rd Street. The seed drums were valued at $1,200, the battery and toolbox a combined $110. No suspects.

Holiday gas station, 8101 Hadley Ave., reported a $42 gas drive-off Aug. 16. Police were not able to locate suspect vehicle.

A Cottage Grove woman reported Aug. 16 that someone stole her purse while she was at Rainbow Foods, 7282 East Point Douglas Road. The purse and contents were valued at $420.

A painting company reported Aug. 22 that an enclosed trailer with paint supplies and ladders was stolen from a home construction site in the 8800 block of 67th Street Bay. Loss was estimated at $2,600.

A Cottage Grove resident reported Aug. 22 that a lawnmower and tackle box were stolen from a residence in the 9200 block of Hale Avenue. There was no value listed for the items reported stolen.

A Cottage Grove resident reported Aug. 24 that a video game system and video games were stolen from an apartment in the 7800 block of Hemingway Avenue. There was no listed value of the items reported stolen.

Police cited a 39-year-old Cottage Grove man for theft on Aug. 24 after he allegedly tried to steal cigarettes from the Holiday gas station at 8610 East Point Douglas Road.

A Cottage Grove resident reported Aug. 26 that a mini-bike valued at $300 was stolen from an unlocked detached garage at a residence in the 8400 block of Grafton Avenue.

A Cottage Grove resident reported Aug. 26 that a bike was stolen from outside Park High School. The bike, valued at $150, was unlocked but tied to a tree.

A Cottage Grove man reported Aug. 31 that tools and a bag valued at $500 were stolen from an unlocked truck parked in the 9200 block of Jarrod Avenue.

A Coates, Minn., man reported Sept. 3 that his wallet was stolen while he was checking out at Menards, 9000 East Point Douglas Road. It was a $200 loss, but police have a suspect and the case is under investigation.

Holiday gas station, 8101 Hadley Ave., reported a $34 gas drive-off Sept. 4.

BP gas station, 8490 East Point Douglas Road, reported a $35 gas drive-off Sept. 6.

Holiday gas station, 8101 Hadley Ave., reported a $50 gas drive-off Sept. 8.

A Cottage Grove man reported Sept. 8 that an unknown person entered an unlocked vehicle parked in the 6000 block of Summit Court and removed a laptop. The computer was recovered on the lawn, but a power cord, power converter and loose change were stolen from the vehicle. Loss estimated at $75.
