Cottage Grove police reports for Sept. 25: Assault, property damage, theft
Recent criminal activity reported in Cottage Grove:
Menards, 9000 East Point Douglas Road, reported a theft Sept. 11. The case is under investigation.
Holiday gas station, 8101 Hadley Ave., reported a $31 gas drive-off on Sept. 18.
A Cottage Grove resident reported Sept. 18 that someone stole a garden bench from the home in the 8300 block of 75th Street. There was no value on the bench because it was going to be thrown away.
A juvenile male reported Sept. 19 that his wallet was taken while he was staying at a home in the 7800 block of Jenner Avenue. The wallet contained $40.
Police received a report Sept. 16 that two juvenile males damaged new concrete at Jensen Avenue and 81st Street by writing their names and profanities in it. A 13-year-old Cottage Grove male was issued a juvenile citation for damage to property. A 12-year-old Cottage Grove male was referred to the Youth Service Bureau.
An Inver Grove Heights woman reported Sept. 17 that her vehicle was keyed while parked at Country Inn and Suites, 8350 East Point Douglas Road.
Police were called Sept. 18 to Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park on East Point Douglas Road for a vandalism report. Someone damaged the pay box.
A 43-year-old Cottage Grove man was cited Sept. 17 for disorderly conduct following an altercation with a neighbor in the 8600 block of Granada Avenue.
A 16-year-old Woodbury male was cited for minor consumption after police were called Sept. 19 to the South Washington Alternative High School on a report of an intoxicated male.
Cottage Grove police and firefighters responded shortly before 8 p.m. Sept. 17 to a grass fire at Manning Avenue and 70th Street. It was extinguished.
A 42-year-old Cottage Grove man was cited Sept. 17 for possession of a small amount of marijuana and violating a driver’s license restriction after police were dispatched on a report of a man walking down the middle of the street on Hadley Avenue headed toward 89th Street.
Police were called Sept. 19 to the 9800 block of Hamlet Avenue on a report of a suspicious male. A man who lived in the area seven years ago has been showing up occasionally in the neighborhood because “it holds good memories for him,” according to the police report. He was gone when officers arrived.
A 16-year-old Cottage Grove male was issued a juvenile ticket for fifth-degree assault after he allegedly grabbed a 15-year-old Cottage Grove male by the neck and threw him to the floor Sept. 18 at Park High School, 8040 80th St.
A Cottage Grove man told police Sept. 19 that unknown people in a vehicle threatened him in the 7700 block of Hemingway Avenue. The vehicle was gone when police arrived.
