Cottage Grove police reports for Sept. 18: Theft, property damage
Recent criminal activity reported in Cottage Grove:
Police were called to the new Walmart construction site on East Point Douglas Road for a noise complaint at 4:40 a.m. Aug. 28. A crew had started doing concrete work and was told to stop because it was too early.
A St. Paul Park woman reported Aug. 31 that she thought her credit card was stolen while she was at Kohl’s, 7990 Hardwood Ave., on Aug. 30. There were two unauthorized purchases on her credit card.
A Cottage Grove juvenile female reported Aug. 31 that her cellphone was stolen while she was at the Park Grove Branch Library, 7900 Hemingway Ave. There is a possible suspect. The phone was valued $150.
A Cottage Grove man reported Sept. 1 that the starter was removed from his vehicle sometime in the last month while the vehicle was parked in the 8100 block of Harkness Road.
Target, 8655 East Point Douglas Road, reported a theft Sept. 2. An 18-year-old Cottage Grove woman was cited for shoplifting.
Kohl’s, 7990 Hardwood Ave., reported a theft Sept. 3. A 27-year-old Hastings woman was cited for shoplifting.
Rainbow Foods, 7282 East Point Douglas Road, reported a theft Sept. 3. A 12-year-old Cottage Grove female was referred to the Youth Service Bureau for theft.
Kohl’s, 7990 Hardwood Ave., reported a theft Sept. 4. A 27-year-old Cottage Grove woman was cited for theft.
A Cottage Grove man on Sept. 6 reported the theft of a package containing lock boxes valued at $80 delivered to his home in the 8100 block of Jasmine Avenue.
Police received a report Sept. 6 that a bike was stolen from outside the Park Grove Library, 7900 Hemingway Ave.
Target, 8655 East Point Douglas Road, reported a theft in progress on Sept. 9. A man was attempting to leave the store with stolen merchandise. Deontae M. Jackson, 26, of Minneapolis, was arrested on suspicion of felony shoplifting, giving a false name to police, a driving violation and for multiple outstanding warrants. He was taking $1,040 worth of merchandise.
Menards, 9000 East Point Douglas Road, reported the theft of a lockset on Sept. 11. There is a possible suspect.
SuperAmerica, 7033 Jorgensen Lane, reported a $40 gas drive-off on Sept. 12.
A Cottage Grove resident reported Sept. 12 that someone stole a lamp and paperwork from an unlocked vehicle in the 7400 block of 99th Street.
A Cottage Grove woman reported Aug. 29 that three tires were slashed on a vehicle parked in the 9900 block of Hamlet Avenue. Loss: $493.
A Cottage Grove woman reported Aug. 30 that a window was shattered on her vehicle while it was parked at 103rd Street and Hadley Avenue. Nothing was reported stolen.
A Cottage Grove resident reported Aug. 31 that there were several chips in the windshield and near the driver-side mirror of a vehicle parked in the 7200 block of Lamar Avenue. It was unknown what caused the damage.
A Cottage Grove woman reported Aug. 31 that solar lights were damaged outside a house in the 7100 block of 74th Street.
Orthodontics by Hipple, 7729 79th St., reported Sept. 3 that shingles were missing from the building roof and a ladder was found leaning against the building. No suspects.
