Assault

Timothy J. Barr, 48, of Cottage Grove, was booked into Washington County jail on suspicion of domestic assault on April 19 after he allegedly pushed a woman during a domestic incident at a home in the 9900 block of 82nd Street.

Police were called April 22 to Crestview Elementary School, 7830 80th St., on a report of an altercation between two students. An 11-year-old male student was referred to the Youth Service Bureau for fifth-degree assault after he punched another student.

A Cottage Grove man was arrested for allegedly hitting another man with a gun. Police were called shortly after 4 a.m. April 28 to a home in the 8400 block of Greystone Avenue for a reported domestic. John J. McKenzie, 42, who lives at the address, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault after he allegedly threatened to shoot a 32-year-old man and then he hit him in the head with a gun, according to the report.

A Cottage Grove man was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault after a domestic incident April 28. Police were called to a home in the 9100 block of Jareau Avenue, where Xiong K. Vang, 33, allegedly kicked his 34-year-old wife and broke her arm during an altercation, according to the report.

Accident

A St. Paul resident and a Woodbury man were transported to Woodwinds and United hospitals, respectively, after they were involved in a three-vehicle crash shortly before 10 p.m. April 22 in the 6600 block of Keats Ave. They suffered minor injuries.

Drugs

A Cottage Grove woman living in the 8400 block of Jorgensen Avenue reported April 26 that she found a small plastic package in her mailbox that contained a substance she believed was a drug. Police said the substance tested positive for heroin.
