Recent criminal activity reported in Cottage Grove:

Drugs

A 28-year-old St. Paul man was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana after he was stopped June 7 in the 8700 block of 67th Street Circle. Police were called to the area because the man was intoxicated.

Offending officer

A 24-year-old woman was ticketed for offending a peace officer June 8 after she walked by a police officer parked at Kohl’s, 7990 Hardwood Ave., and used obscenities toward him.

Theft

A Cottage Grove girl reported June 6 that her cellphone was stolen from a locker room at Cottage Grove Middle School, 9775 Indian Blvd. It was not locked up. Loss: $150.

A 13-year-old Cottage Grove girl was referred to the Youth Service Bureau for theft June 6 after having stolen a classmate’s backpack. The backpack was recovered but some items were missing.

A 27-year-old Cottage Grove man was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor shoplifting and fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance following a theft report June 9 at Walmart, 9300 East Point Douglas Road. He was booked into the Washington County jail and also cited for driving after suspension.

A 34-year-old St. Paul woman was cited for shoplifting and driving after revocation and a 43-year-old woman, who has no permanent address, was arrested for an outstanding warrant following a theft June 11 at Target, 8655 East Point Douglas Road.

A 29-year-old Cottage Grove man was cited for shoplifting June 11 at Cub Foods, 8690 East Point Douglas Road.

Target, 8655 East Point Douglas Road, reported June 13 that a speaker valued at $199 was stolen from the store. There was no known suspect.

A woman reported June 13 that her vehicle was broken into and a GPS device was stolen at WAG Farms dog park, 9475 Glendenning Road.

A 17-year-old Inver Grove Heights girl and a 16-year-old Cottage Grove girl were issued juvenile citations for theft after shoplifting June 13 at Kohl’s, 7990 Hardwood Ave.

A Cottage Grove man called police June 13 to report that tools valued at $500 were stolen from his garage in the 8300 block of 72nd Street.

A Cottage Grove woman told police June 15 that her cellphone was stolen at Caribou Coffee, 7145 East Point Douglas Road. The woman had set it on a counter. Loss: $500.

A 13-year-old Cottage Grove girl and a 12-year-old St. Paul Park girl were referred to the Youth Service Bureau for theft following a shoplifting incident June 15 at Kohl’s, 7990 Hardwood Ave.

A 16-year-old Cottage Grove girl was referred to the Youth Service Bureau for theft following a shoplifting incident June 16 at Kohl’s, 7990 Hardwood Ave.

A 43-year-old St. Paul Park woman was cited for shoplifting June 16 at Cub Foods, 8690 East Point Douglas Road.

Property damage

A Cottage Grove man called police June 9 to report that someone had scratched an obscenity into his vehicle in the 8700 block of Imperial Avenue.

Vandalism

Two 16-year-old Cottage Grove girls were referred to the Youth Service Bureau for vandalism after a house was vandalized with toilet paper and a car was egged June 10 in the 8300 block of 75th Street.

Assault

A 9-year-old boy was assaulted by another juvenile male June 10 in the 9900 block of 78th Street. There were no serious injuries. The suspect could not be located.
