Recent reported criminal activity:

Theft

Menards, 9000 East Point Douglas Road, reported an attempted theft Jan. 19. The merchandise was found stashed in the store. The suspect was prohibited from returning to the store.

A 16-year-old St. Paul male was cited for theft Jan. 20 after he was caught on video stealing snacks from Park High School, 8040 80th St.

Shamrock Liquors, 9040 Inwood Ave., reported a theft Jan. 20. A male suspect grabbed a bottle of vodka ($32) and ran from the store. Police looked at surveillance video footage but could not identify the suspect.

Property damage

A Cottage Grove resident reported Jan. 18 that a snowmobiler damaged a fence in the 10000 block of East Point Douglas Road. Damage: $50.

A Cottage Grove resident reported Jan. 19 that someone broke a window on a vehicle in the 6800 block of Pine Crest Trail. Damage: $350.

Assault

A 16-year-old Cottage Grove boy was issued a juvenile citation for fifth-degree domestic assault and possession of drug paraphernalia following a domestic incident Jan. 20 at a home in the 6900 block of Inskip Avenue. The boy allegedly grabbed and pushed his 45-year-old mother, causing bruising and cuts, according to the report.

A man was arrested for allegedly choking another man during a dispute Jan. 21 at a home in the 9600 block of Harrow Court. The 32-year-old man, who doesn’t have a permanent address, was arrested on suspicion of domestic assault-strangulation for allegedly trying to choke a 23-year-old man who lives at the home. He was booked into the Washington County jail.
