Recently reported criminal activity in Cottage Grove:


A 15-year-old Cottage Grove male was given a juvenile citation for fifth-degree assault for punching a classmate Feb. 13 at Park High School, 8040 80th St.


Two 9-year-old boys — one from Cottage Grove, the other St. Paul Park — were referred to the Youth Service Bureau for fifth-degree assault for throwing ice chunks at a 10-year-old Cottage Grove boy and punching him Feb. 13 in the 7900 block of Hemingway Avenue.


Brett D. Penn, 21, of St. Paul Park, was arrested on suspicion of selling a fifth-degree controlled substance following an incident at about 5 p.m. Feb. 13. A police officer on patrol saw a marijuana sale taking place in the 80th Street Crossing parking lot at 6990 80th St., according to the report. Marijuana that Penn allegedly was selling weighed 9.6 grams, according to police. He was booked at the Washington County jail.

Police cited two people for alleged drug-related violations about 11 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Wakota Inn, 7125 80th St. Officers conducting a walk-through at the hotel noticed a strong smell of burnt marijuana coming from a room. They ticketed a 20-year-old Blaine man for possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Another 20-year-old Blaine man was cited for possession of small amount of marijuana.


A 17-year-old St. Paul boy was given a juvenile citation for trespassing Feb. 14 at Park High School, 8040 80th St.


A 15-year-old Cottage Grove male was referred Feb. 14 to the Youth Service Bureau for a tobacco-related violation at Park High School, 8040 80th St.


SuperAmerica, 7033 Jorgensen Lane, reported a gas drive-off on Feb. 15. The value of the theft was not available.
