Cottage Grove police reports for Aug. 7
Recently reported criminal activity in Cottage Grove:
A 30-year-old Alden, Minn., man was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia July 26 in the parking lot of Walmart, 9300 East Point Douglas Road. The officer was on routine patrol after midnight and was going to check the welfare of a man sitting in a vehicle. There was an odor of burnt marijuana in the vehicle, according to the police report.
A 23-year-old West St. Paul man was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after police were called shortly after midnight July 31 to Islay Avenue on a report of two people smoking marijuana in a car.
A Cottage Grove woman faces criminal charges for allegedly assaulting her sister during a July 21 fight at their home in the 9000 block of Islay Avenue. Deangela N. Daily, 26, was arrested after she allegedly punched her adult sister in the face, according to the police report. She was booked into the Washington County jail on suspicion of fifth-degree domestic assault and obstructing the legal process.
A Cottage Grove woman reported July 23 that someone keyed her car while it was parked at Cub Foods, 8690 East Point Douglas Road.
Police received a report July 31 that an unknown vehicle had driven through a farm field in the 8300 block of 113th Street. Damage was estimated at between $100 and $1,000.
Robert J. Baier, 37, of Cottage Grove, was arrested July 25 on suspicion of trespassing and driving after cancellation, after police were called to a home in the 7400 block of 98th Street on a report of an unwanted male. Baier was booked into the Washington County jail.
A Cottage Grove resident reported a burglary July 25. A home in the 7500 block of Immanuel Avenue was broken into sometime between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. that day. The suspect forcibly entered through an attached garage. Two handguns ($1,500 total) and jewelry were stolen.
A 28-year-old Inver Grove Heights woman was arrested on suspicion of no insurance and driving after revocation following a traffic stop July 27 in the 7300 block of East Point Douglas Road.
