Cottage Grove police reports
A Cottage Grove woman reported Feb. 23 that someone made a charge to her bank account for $241. Three purchases were made over the Internet.
A Cottage Grove woman reported Feb. 18 that someone had entered a residence in the 9400 block of 72nd Street. Nothing was reported stolen, but the woman said alcoholic beverages were consumed by the suspect or suspects in the residence. Forced entry was gained through a window.
Police received a report Feb. 27 that someone entered an unoccupied residence in the 7900 block of 76th Street and stole the washing machine. There was no sign of forced entry. Loss valued at $650. No suspects.
Rocco's Pizza, 7422 E. Point Douglas Road, reported Feb. 27 that a cash register containing cash was stolen from the restaurant. A trash can also was stolen. There was no sign of forced entry. The front door was found open. No suspects. Total loss: $1,140.
A Cottage Grove woman reported Feb. 28 that someone entered two vehicles in a locked attached garage in the 6800 block of Pointe Place and stole two GPS units.
Police received a report Feb. 22 that a snowplow blade was stolen from the parking lot at Cub Foods, 8690 E. Point Douglas Road. The blade was located near a plow truck and trailer. The replacement cost was estimated at $3,000.
Kiersten Kellogg, 25, Hastings, was arrested Feb. 18 on suspicion of felony theft and possession of shoplifting gear after she allegedly stole items valued at $1,310 from Kohls, 7990 Hardwood Ave.
A 17-year old Cannon Falls male was cited for theft after he allegedly fled the BP gas station at 8490 E. Point Douglas Road without paying for $41.16 in gasoline.
A Cannon Falls woman reported Feb. 25 that she allowed her adult son to use her vehicle. He was at a residence in the 7500 block of 80th Street when two men who also were at the address asked to retrieve something from the 2003 Dodge Neon. The men then fled in the vehicle. The case is still active.
A Cottage Grove man reported Feb. 27 that someone entered a vehicle parked at a residence in the 6900 block of Timber Ridge Trail and stole a rifle scope ($300), a GPS device ($150) and three pairs of sunglasses ($560). The vehicle was unlocked and there was no sign of forced entry.
O'Reilly Auto Parts, 8401 E. Point Douglas Road, reported Feb. 28 that two license plates were removed from a business vehicle parked at the store sometime between Feb. 24-27.
Holiday gas station, 8101 Hadley Ave., reported a $15 gas drive-off March 3. No suspects.
A 37-year-old St. Paul Park man was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana after police were called Feb. 19 to Country Inn and Suites, 8350 E. Point Douglas Road, on a complaint of the smell of marijuana in a room.
A 23-year-old Cottage Grove woman was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and for not having insurance following a traffic stop March 2 in Cottage Grove. Police had received an anonymous tip that someone was driving without insurance.
A Cottage Grove woman reported Feb. 21 that checks from a credit card company were missing from a mailbox in the 6800 block of Pine Crest Trail. Two checks totaling $3,800 had been processed, and two checks totaling $4,000 were not processed. Three other checks may have been processed, according to the report. No suspects.
A Cottage Grove woman reported Feb. 25 that someone used her identity to file a false tax return. The woman suffered no loss, but her identity and information were compromised.
A Cottage Grove man reported Feb. 26 that someone used his Social Security number to purchase a vehicle in New Jersey.
Two 10-year-old Cottage Grove males were referred to the Youth Service Bureau after police were called March 2 to a residence in the 7600 block of Hinton Avenue on a report of two juveniles being disorderly.
A 16-year-old Cottage Grove male was cited Feb. 28 for possession of tobacco at Park High School.
A 15-year-old St. Paul Park girl was referred to chemical awareness classes after she reportedly was caught drinking at a school dance at Park High School Feb. 23.
