Cottage Grove police brief: Two arrested on drug charges after traffic stop
A traffic stop in Cottage Grove led to two drug-related arrests.
Police observed a suspicious vehicle with loud music in Cottage Grove about 11:15 p.m. Sept. 22. The registered owner had a revoked license and the driver matched the owner’s description.
Police stopped the vehicle on Highway 61 just north of 70th Street, and uncovered methamphetamine inside.
The driver, who was not the owner, was arrested on suspicion of multiple charges. Jordan R. Smith, 28, of St. Paul, was booked into the Washington County jail for alleged fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, driving after suspension and possession of a small amount of marijuana in a motor vehicle.
A passenger, Mandi L. Kielsa, 34, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of a small amount of marijuana in a motor vehicle.
