The city of Cottage Grove has scheduled a public hearing for a street rehabilitation project in the southeast corner of the city.
The project area includes the F1 district (east of Islay Avenue, north of Jareau Avenue and west of Jewel Avenue) and F4 district (east of and including Jergen Avenue, west of and including Jareau Avenue, and south of 91st and 93rd streets).
During a recent pavement management workshop, City Engineer Jennifer Levitt said due to the streets’ poor condition, a full pavement replacement and spot curb replacement is recommended for both areas. Also proposed are minor utility improvements for sanitary sewer, water, street lights and stormwater.
The project is estimated to cost around $3.6 million, with roughly 45 percent of the cost assessed to benefiting property owners.
An estimate of the impact the assessments will be available at the public hearing, which is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15.
