Chipotle, Noodles secure conditional liquor licenses in Cottage Grove
Plans for two new restaurants in Cottage Grove are moving forward as both Chipotle Mexican Grill and Noodles & Company were granted conditional liquor licenses last week.
The two chain restaurants have plans to refurbish portions of the 6,650-square-foot vacant Hollywood Video site, located at 7180 East Point Douglas Road.
Venture Pass Partners’ Dave Carland said the letters of intent recently turned into talk of leases, with the final signatures to be penned in the next two weeks.
Chipotle is slated to occupy 2,366 square feet on the south end of the building and Noodles is expected to occupy 2,697 square feet on the north end. Both plan to have patios.
Carland said he was in talks with Yogurt Lab to occupy the middle space, roughly 1,600 square feet, but a deal was never reached.
“We expect a good selection of (businesses) looking to take over the middle tenant now that people know it’s Chipotle and Noodles,” Carland said.
He added that construction on the two spaces is expected to begin in March with a May delivery.
“We don’t expect the middle tenant to be a purveyor of spirits or another restaurant,” Carland said.
“We’re very happy to see these reused and upgraded immensely,” Cottage Grove Mayor Myron Bailey said.
The two restaurants could be open as early as the summer.
