Vickie Batroot, recently retired site director at 3M-Cottage Grove and former board member of the Youth Service Bureau, received the Bureau’s Service to Youth award.

The award recognizes individuals who are “champions to youth and provide outstanding service to youth and families throughout the east metro.”

“While there’s no doubt that Vickie is a star in her professional life, few people are aware of her passion and support for kids,” Planten-Krell said. “Over the past six years, Vickie has kept YSB connected with community needs, driven us to provide creative solutions and provided thoughtful guidance at the policy level. She played a key role in creating programs that solve pressing community needs, like the Library Leaders program in Cottage Grove, and has been a strong advocate throughout the community.”
